SnapLock Compliance Mode volumes have strict, immutable retention rules. SnapMirror requires the destination to have the same or more restrictive SnapLock type (e.g., Compliance to Compliance, or Enterprise to standard). Replicating from Compliance Mode to a non-Compliance destination is not allowed as it would bypass the compliance guarantees.

The default `autosize-grow-threshold-percent` is 95. The output shows the volume is at 90% used and in `grow` mode. ONTAP will not trigger an automatic grow operation until the used space reaches the grow threshold (default 95%). It monitors but does not act at 90%.

In a MetroCluster IP configuration, the inter-switch links (ISLs) carry both synchronous mirroring (SyncMirror) and NVHA/Mediator traffic. Their bandwidth and latency are paramount. Insufficient bandwidth or high latency can cause write performance degradation, and excessive latency can break the synchronous mirroring requirement, risking the solution’s viability.

FlexGroup volumes are designed for this exact scenario: a single namespace that scales capacity and performance by distributing data across multiple constituent FlexVol volumes (members). They are ideal for large, scalable archives where a single FlexVol would hit capacity or inode limits, and are more actively developed and recommended than Infinite Volumes in modern ONTAP.

To provide a guaranteed performance SLA, you use a Storage QoS policy group. You assign the LUN (or its parent volume) to a policy group with a `max-throughput` limit of 10,000 IOPS. Workload Detail Analytics (or `qos statistics performance` commands) are then used to monitor and validate that the latency and throughput guarantees are being met, providing the measurable enforcement.

The correct procedure is to first assess the cluster state from the healthy partner node (Node 1). The `storage disk show -state impaired` and `storage aggregate show-status` commands will show if disks are offline or aggregates are degraded, which is a common cause for a node to halt during boot. This safe, diagnostic approach avoids destructive actions.

For ONTAP Select, Deploy is the lifecycle management tool. To modify hardware resources like storage, you must first shut down the instance, then use Deploy’s configuration editor to add the new capacity (e.g., by adding new disks or enlarging existing virtual disks). Upon restart, Deploy presents the new storage to the instance, where you can then use ONTAP CLI to add it to an aggregate.
